Clean Energy in NYS Southern Tier Boosted by Area’s First State-Supported Incubator

New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo recently launched the first incubator in the Southern Tier as a way to provide additional support for the area’s growing clean energy sector. The new facility in Binghamton will be used by winners of 76 West, a $20 million competition and support program administered by NYSSGC member the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and other clean energy companies. Supporting “Southern Tier Soaring,” the region’s strategy to generate robust economic growth and development, the incubator builds on the success of the state’s six other clean energy incubators whose companies have raised $313 in private investment to fight climate change. “New York is a national leader in growing the clean energy industry and, by giving the Southern Tier the necessary tools, we will help ensure this momentum continues,” Governor Cuomo said. For the press release, click here.
