Direct Energy “Smart” Thermostat Helps Consumers Control Energy Usage

NYSSGC member Direct Energy, in partnership with its sister company Centrica Connected Home, is extending its Connect to Comfort 24 Plan to numerous states, including New York. Enabling Direct Energy’s natural gas and power customers to control heating and cooling usage while in their homes or remotely, the plan features the Hive Active Thermostat, which consumers can control from their smartphones.  “Direct Energy’s vision is to connect people with their devices, so they can know more to make informed decisions around their energy usage,” said Dung Tran, Head of Retail Energy, Home Protection and Solar at the retail energy provider.
