Empire State Development (ESD) in partnership with the New York Battery and Energy Storage Technology Consortium (NY-BEST) have opened the new Kodak Cell Assembly Center at Eastman Business Park in Rochester, NY. The new facility brings expanded resources for the development and manufacturing of innovative batteries and other technologies for energy storage to New York State as a whole and the Finger Lakes region in particular. The center will help advance the new energy storage solutions required by the state’s goals for sustainable energy such as solar and wind power. Commissioner Howard Zemsky, ESD President and CEO, noted that the center will “help to provide valuable resources to the companies, researchers and entrepreneurs working to innovate and improve energy storage and advanced battery technologies.” Click here for the ESD press release.
