Administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the 76West Clean Energy Competition will accept applications for its fourth round through April 15, 2019. Complementing the “Southern Tier Soaring” strategy to revitalize and grow the economy in the Southern Tier, the competition focuses on supporting entrepreneurs and attracting resources from the U.S. and around the world to build clean energy businesses and jobs in the state’s Southern Tier region. The fourth round of the competition will bestow six awards totaling $2.5 million. “The Southern tier is home to some of the most innovative business in the country, and 76West is maximizing the amazing talent in this regional to build a stronger clean energy economy,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo. As part of the competition’s selection process, a group of up to 20 semifinalists will be selected and brought to the Southern Tier next spring to meet with mentors who will connect them with prospective local partners, industry leaders, potential funding sources, and other regional resources.
