For the first time, a large-scale renewable project supported by the Main Tier program of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will provide energy directly to a corporation instead of to the wholesale market. In a voluntary agreement between EDP Renewables North America (EDPA NA) and Bloomberg LP, Bloomberg will purchase 20 MW of energy a year for 20 years from the Arkwright Summit Wind Project being developed in Chautauqua County. “With our support, the development of the Arkwright Summit Wind project will help ensure New York achieves its 50 percent by 2030 renewable energy goals,” noted NYSERDA President and CEO John B.
