Third Round of 76West Clean Energy Competition Begins
New York State’s Governor Andrew Cuomo announced this month that applications from emerging clean energy companies are now being accepted for the third round of the 76West Clean Energy Competition. Administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), an NYSSGC member, the competition will accept applications through April 16, 2018. Up to 20 finalists will be chosen, who will meet with mentors and be connected with potential local partners, industry leaders, possible sources of funding, and other resources in the region. The finalists will pitch their companies to judges who will select six winners to receive a total of $2.5 million in prizes. The 76West competition supports “Southern Tier Soaring,” the regional strategy to generate economic growth and community development, and the NYS Reforming the Energy Vision strategy to build a cleaner, more resilient, and affordable energy system for all New Yorkers.
