Thousands of Clean Energy Projects Underway in NY
The NY Green Bank, a division of Consortium member New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), has closed 13 transactions in 2016, which will result in the financing of numerous clean energy projects. The projects include solar, fuel cells, and energy efficiency initiatives and are expected to create new jobs while spurring economic development. The NY Green Bank, which is designed to support financial gaps to implementing energy efficiency projects, has committed more than $250 million to stimulate additional clean energy investment of $677 million. The NY Green Bank transactions support the State’s Clean Energy Standard, which mandates that 50 percent of all electricity come from renewable sources by 2030, and Governor Cuomo’s Reforming the Energy Vision strategy to build a clean, resilient and affordable energy system for all New Yorkers.
