Winners of 76West Clean Energy Competition Announced

The six winners in the 76West Clean Energy Competition, which complements “Southern Tier Soaring,” the region’s strategic plan to foster economic growth and community development, were announced recently by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo. Dallas, TX-based solar heating company Skyven Technologies, which will expand its business to the Southern Tier, was awarded the $1 million grand prize. Other winners of the competition are SunTegra ($500,000 award) and $250,000-award winners Biological Energy, EthosGen, SolarKal, and Visolis. As a condition of the award, winning companies must either move to or establish a direct connection to the Southern Tier, such as a supply chain, job development with companies in the region, or other strategic relationships with Southern Tier entities to increase wealth and job creation. Companies already operating in the Southern Tier must commit to significantly growing their business and employment in the region. For Governor Cuomo’s press release, click here.
